Reflections of Importance
Ever taken a class and there were these Aha moments, and you’re like yes I learned something helpful?
Well, my Communications 351 class was just like that.
I learned about this cool concept called the “you attitude” which means what’s in it for me. By me, I really mean you the reader. I have to learn to write things tailored to an audience not about myself. Because let’s face it, we all love to know what is in it for ourselves.
Another cool thing I learned, is how to write a business memo. It is like a letter however, it is straight to the point and has a certain format to it. This is really helpful for me because I write business memos is my job today.
Lastly, I learned how to write a thank-you letter. Okay, I know over half of you are like really? I learned how to write a thank you letter when I was 10. I am talking about a different thank you letter. It isn’t a letter to grandma thanking her for the money she sent you. No, it is a thank you letter to that person who just interviewed you. Everyone loves thank you letters, and they are super effective. I learned a professional way to write them, and trust me, I will be utilizing it for the rest of my life.
