Popular Brands Meet Games


Have you ever played a video game then suddenly a coke bottle pops up in the game? Games have

brought a whole new world to advertisers.

So what am I talking about really? Most people don’t even notice it. That coke can you just saw in Call of Duty was just something you thought was cool, but how many of you wanted a coke after seeing it? Advertisers just found a whole new world to advertise to you.

So this has been going on really since the 90s when it comes to mobile games and was only available to people who had a high audience according to Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan in an article writing in Forbes. (I’ll post the link at the bottom of my page. Go check out the article!) “Advertgames” have brought in tons of money into the Advertising domain. When I say tons, I mean billions! Therefore, advertisers are all over this kind of advertising.

Many people are grumpy about this because they feel like Ads ruin everything, and people do not like to be constantly Advertised too. However, people have become less aware of it and think it is cool when they see normal products in there games. People are just used to seeing products that they like everywhere now. This is more of a sneaky way to do it. People don’t notice that coke is trying to market and sell to you when you see the coke bottle in the game. It is a great idea and we are all totally buying it. I know I am!
